This movie is what we ended up going to after we ditched As Above So Below. We were fans of Jason Segel in Forgetting Sara Marshall and of course Cameron Diaz from The Sweetest Thing so we had to make sure we rented this one.

Cameron Diaz for being 41 years old looks great... Can't say this for Jason Segel, he is much skinnier than he used to be which made him look sickly. I didn't pay much attention since Cameron Diaz was roller skating around in her underwear. 

This was a great all around movie based off of a 3 hour sex tape they made that ends up being shared with all of their friends and even the mail man. From there we follow both Diaz and Segel track down everyone they know that would have access to the tape as they also try to find out the mystery texter that thanked Segel's character for the tape.

It's definitely worth going to RedBox and renting it. As a matter of fact I give it 4 out of 5 turtle shells! Go rent it!

The short and skinny of this movie is that it was one that didn't grab my interest from the beginning which meant that at about 10-15 minutes in we had already turned it off. 

So I cant really give you my thoughts other than it wasn't for me some movies just have that effect on me. Below you'll see the trailer that initially pulled me into this mind bending horror movie but unfortunately most of these scenes took to long to get to for me to continue watching.

Since I feel like rating a movie without watching the movie is pointless I can still go ahead and rate the Trailer and I give the Trailer 3 Turtle Shells! It did the trick and made me rent it this week at RedBox.

Game of the Week: Kings Road (mobile)

Recently I have been looking to add to my mobile gaming repertoire so I was scanning through the iTunes Store looking at the top picks and found Kings Road. I have never been a huge action RPG fan but I am a fan of class selection and character leveling. To my surprise I have thoroughly enjoyed this game at this point.

The story line of the game is similar to a fairy tale. In the absence of the king, a kingdom was captured by some evil enemies. As warrior for the King, players band together and fight enemies in order to free the princess. The game has 3D-style graphics that use Flash Player. -Source: Kings Road wiki

POSITIVE

- Beautiful graphics for both character and mission designs.

- Free to Play: This is a "Freemium" title which means that this game does support in-app purchases. However, from what I have noticed you can get by without making any purchases.

- MMORPG, team up with some of your friends to tackle different quests together.

- In depth character classes.

- Easy to use and understand HUD (heads up display) Screen Layout is easy to jump right into playing.

NEGATIVE

- Freemium: You can play this game without purchasing anything BUT to speed up your leveling process in app purchases is an option.

- No streaming capabilities

- Armor: I know you have to start somewhere but the opening level gear looks terrible especially for my class selection - Wizard.

Overall this game is a lot of fun and definitely worth the download. Grab a few friends to join you and this game from Rumble will be a mainstay on your mobile device. Go check it out, it's playable on your web browser, android and iOS.

Vainglory Review

I will be doing mobile game reviews every week now. They will be quick and not super in-depth just enough for you to know if you should spend your time or money on it.

I have been looking for a good MOBA "Multiplayer Online Battle Arena" on mobile I have tried a few so far and Vainglory is by far my favorite.

 

Positive

- Your screen view stays stuck on your hero which I like for a mobile device because it is really hard to keep the camera on your hero and be able to move it everywhere.

- The heroes are pretty diverse already and fun to play. 

- The leveling tree is quick and easy to understand.

- You do not have to pay for anything if you don't want to. But if you have a new or fav hero you want to all ways play you can easily drop at max 10$ and pick it up to always play with. 

 

Negative

- The starting map only has one lain and after allot of games can get a little stale

- In the middle of the map there is a kraken that appears half way through the match. If you fight this kraken and win it starts fighting for you and destroying the enemies turrets. Allot of games come down to unleashing the kraken and who ever does this wins. (I have come back several times from games where the kraken was unleashed on my team but it is very difficult.)

- There are not in game streaming capabilities yet.

Over all I really like this game and def think it is worth your time and money if you decide to spend any money on it. Check out there web site vainglorygame.com and download it in the app store here.

The Interview: CANCELLED

Good Morning! Hope you all are having a great start to your Thursday. Some snow is falling here and dare I say It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Speaking of Christmas a highly anticipated movie that was set to release over Christmas has been cancelled. That's right Sony Pictures has decided to cancel its release of the movie due to threats from the group Guardians of Peace or GOP.

“In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. We respect and understand our partners’ decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theatergoers,” Sony Pictures said in a statement. 

Not only did Sony Pictures cancel the movie but in November, once word of this movie was beginning to spread, they were hacked. Federal investigation shows that North Korean was behind the massive hack against Sony. Thousands of confidential documents revealing executive pay structure, corporate profits, unreleased films, personal email correspondence and employee social security numbers were part of what was compromised from Sony.

Which theater's pulled back from showing the movie? They were Regal and AMC along with many other theater chains due to the potential threats on both the theaters and theatergoers. The threat from terrorist groups said in part "Remember September 11th, 2011" for comparison to what they would do. In fact they already had theaters and showing times for said theaters to deploy their plans if Sony or the theater didn't cancel their showings.

Did you want to go see the movie? It was on our list but not sure if it was a RedBox rental or a go to the movies and see it movie. Ultimately I feel like the decision to cancel its release was a good one since we are one of those moviegoers. What do you think? Were you going to see this movie? Was this a good move by Sony? Was it a good move to even put $44 million into a movie like this in the first place? So many questions... anyways that's it for today let me know what you think. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

If you have been following the Hunger Games series this is the 3rd movie. The 2 movies before this point were very action packed and full thunder dome style fighting. You should know going into this movie that its not like that at all. 

We follow Katniss on an emotional roller coster. We get to see how much pain the games and life have started to cause her. One of my favorite things about this movie is that we get to see more of what is going on in the other cities, as they start to revolt. You really get to feel and see society falling apart. 

This is a must see movie if you have watched the other 2. I've heard some talk of people no liking this movie because its slower. You must look at the movies as a whole and this one is a very important part of the story. Will Katniss pull it together and lead a revolt against the capital or will she fall apart watching her friends and family die around her.

I give this movie 4/4 turtle shells.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

First off you need to know I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan. Naturally I am very excited about the next Hobbit movie coming out! Here is a great trailer for the new movie enjoy!

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies comes out Wednesday  Dec. 17th. With some early showing on the 16th!

Next week after I watch the movie I will be doing a review of it!

Are you having trouble finding enough friends online to complete weekly events and raids? Tired of playing PVP by your self?

I found Destinylfg several weeks ago and now I use it every time I want to do anything on Destiny. Destinylfg is a matching and paring site. You can put in your Name, Console, Region, Class, Level, Activity and a Comment if you want. You can then list your information on a board that everyone can see. 

From this view you can filter for Console, Language, Activity, Class and a general text search. This is where you can look for people trying to complete what ever you are. Just shoot them a message or a chat invite and you will fill up your squad with in a few min. 

I have completed all my weekly events including raids on normal with 2 characters for the past 4 week using this website. It is very simple and fast! If you have any questions about it just let me know.

Walmart’s first 5 pages don’t really compare to Targets first 5 at all. Although a few things that stood out to me were the Xbox One w/ Halo: The Master Chief Collection and that Xbox 360 for just 100 bones. Granted Walmart always has just a ton of cheap movies which is why we always start our shopping here over someplace else. Plus another great feature with Walmart is the 1 hour Guarantee. What this means is that if you’re in line to get a specific item and they sell out of the actual product they give you what looks like a rain check. Now it’s not your typical rain check instead you get the card saying you had your 1-hour guarantee and then you have to go and pay for said item instead of waiting for that item to come back in stock and buying it at that time. I found this out last year while waiting in line for an iPad mini that I was getting for my wife for Christmas.

Good Bye Naruto

This week I had to say good bye to a long time friend Naruto. The main series has just ended after 700 chapters its finally finished. I have been watching and reading this anime for over a decade! This blows my mind I can not think of anything else that I have been so committed to for so long.

If you haven't started reading or watching Naruto you should. I was very pleased with how it ended and it still left me wanting more. Here is to a good friend you will be missed and loved!

My Favorite eye ability is Byakugan! Which makes Neji my favorite character besides Naruto.

My favorite teacher is Jiraiya! He was a great mentor to so many and really went out in a blaze of glory.

My favorite Hokage is a tie between Minato and Tsunade. They both had a very deep love for there country and put there lives on the line to protect the ones they love.

Page 6 has to be the GoPro and Beats Studios. Great deals on both of them! Page 7 might be the only page I get something from this Black Friday. Both the Evil Within and Shadow of Mordor is $25 a piece! Page 8 like I said I love a good game night, however the deal on the Xbox 360 seems fantastic! Page 8... well the Lego set for DC Universe and Star Wars seem pretty legit. Page 9, NO COMMENT.

If you are a tech fan, gaming fan or just a fan of saving money then Black Friday is the event for you! Every year we go out at midnight to catch all the madness and from time to time pick up a few items, mainly a couple of movies or games. We have been Black Friday shopping the past 5-6 years not to get anything in particular but just to watch how crazy people get to save $5 on a 101 piece storage container set by rubbermaid. In this post I'll do my best to break down the pages and what nerdy stuff to look for this year here is an outlook of the first 5 pages!

I love Apple. I like how Apple never drops the price on its products and how Target makes up for that by giving you gift cards! 

Recapping the first 5 pages to me there were 3 notable items that stuck out to me 2 of which were TV's. On the first page the 40 inch Element TV for $119 and the big one, Xbox One for $329 w/ Assassins Creed Black Flag and Unity with a $50 Target gift card. The next item was the 48 inch Westinghouse TV for just $236 on page 3. I also love page 5 everything Apple makes me happy except for their prices!

Interstellar NO SPOILERS

This weekend I got the chance to check out Interstellar with some of my friends. I would definitely go see it! I was amazed by the graphics and emotional story. I personally would have enjoyed some background info on what put the world in this interesting situation. instead of the very very high level one we got. I also think the last 15min of the film were the most shaky for me. I can't really mention anything more detail with out giving anything away. If you are looking for a good movie to see before Mockingjay comes out def check out Interstellar! I give it 3/4 ninja turtles.

Pixel Press Fall Game Jam

This past week end my wife and I went out to the Saint Louis Science Center to check out the Pixel Press Fall Game Jam. This is a mini game jam focused around using Pixel Press's mobile game Floors. You use Floors to help you create different levels, and then share them with your friends and vote on who made the best level!

Everyone is given grid paper that they draw a level on and then capture that drawing with an iPad. The iPad then turns your hand drawing into a video game. You can then style the level and choose what character you want to go through your level.

This is some of the kids' level drawings.

The kids loved watching people play what they created and also playing other peoples' creations.

Everyone got to vote for their favorite games, and then 3 teams were chosen as winners. They got Adventure Time plush figures as a prize!

This event was so much fun to watch and be a part of. It was great watching kids problem solve and learn about engineering/ creation.
