Yes, another Insidious Chapter! Not sure if many of you are as excited as I am about this but... Yes Please! There is just something about Lin Shaye that I love, ever since the movie "Kingpin" and the shot of her making naughty tongue with her fingers I couldn't get enough of her! But seriously these Insidious movies are too me a fun/scary movie nothing like those other movies based off true events. Which I also like but its a different feel when I see those compared to my just named genre of fun/scary! Spy is another fun movie I'm looking forward to seeing as well. Should be a fun/comedy... see what I did there? Entourage... eh not gonna see it. How about you?
Emily Kinney Concert at Blueberry Hill St. Louis, MO
Check out this clip Matt, Frostfire047, took for us Thursday night of Emily Kinney! Or better known as Beth from the Walking Dead!
#ThisIsWar
As a semi-active concert goer, there was no missing Emily Kinney here in St. Louis, MO. Most may know Emily as Beth Greene from The Walking Dead, but those who looked past the show for her singing found that she has her own music! Music that she does outside of The Walking Dead is a very unique pop style that you’d have to try and explain yourself.
The show was at a venue called The Blueberry Hill Duck Room. It’s basically a bar and stage under a restaurant on the ever popular Delmar Loop. If you’ve ever been to a small concert venue then you’ll know that it’s perfect for non-mainstream artists. The venue holds less than 300 people. There were solid 200 people at this show.
We get to the about 7:15, doors open at 8:00, and find ourselves in a short ten person line to get ID’d and moved through to the venue downstairs. Once we’re downstairs you find a dark basement with a bar along the back wall and a professional stage on the opposite wall. I grab myself a few brewskies and wait for the venue to start filling up and the opening act, Dylan Gardner, to come on.
Dylan Gardner is an 18 year old with an amazing voice and strong lyrics. He is very quick to knock your socks off and get you in the mood for a live band. You’ll want to keep an eye out for his name and check him out whenever he’s near you.
Short drum set changeover and we’re basically right into Emily Kinney. She comes out on stage with her band and greets the audience with a “what’s up?” and a count into her first song “Mess”. You can definitely pick up that’s she’s pretty excited to be out on the road being able to do the music she loves. Quirky audience interactions and statements like “we need a bigger van!”. Quite a few songs from the night where from her new album “This is War” coming out this summer. No complaints about this from fans. We even got to see two songs that she performed on The Walking Dead, “Be Good” and “Hold On”. The show moves through at a solid pace and definitely gives you your money worth. From her poppy, upbeat vocals and the simple but almost perfect lighting, you’ll find from videos and others that went, it was truly a magical experience.

So what do you think? Which movie is on your radar for the month of June (and May 29th)? Scroll down and check them out and find out whats on my radar below!

In the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California, a rescue-chopper pilot makes a dangerous journey across the state in order to rescue his estranged daughter.
Movie star Vincent Chase, together with his boys Eric, Turtle, and Johnny, are back - and back in business with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold.
A prequel set before the haunting of the Lambert family that reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
A desk-bound CIA analyst volunteers to go undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent diabolical global disaster.
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly.
Newlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he's a person in a court of law.
So what movie do I want to see? I grew up a 90's kid and was forever changed by Jurassic Park. As a matter of fact my wife and I still til this day fall asleep to either Jurassic Park or Jurassic Park II. So needless to say Jurassic World is our choice if we had to pick just one of these movies to go see. It doesn't hurt that Chris Pratt is becoming a growing favorite of ours either.
Comment below what you are looking forward to see! Don't see what you're wanting to see in this post let us know!
Hope you enjoy whatever you plan on seeing throughout this weekend and the month of June!

Aloha and the rock the same weekend! Ironic?
Out this weekend 5/29 Aloha as well as San Andreas! Found it pretty ironic that a Hawaiian actor has a movie released the same weekend as a movie with the title "Aloha!" Anyways, it's the small things that amuse me and this is one of them. If it weren't for us flying to Jamaica this weekend I'd be in line for San Andreas, I'm into these kind of movies though. The trailer makes me think of past movies I loved like "The Day After Tomorrow" and "2012" like I said we will be seeing this movie sometime for sure. If you're into what looks like a sappy love story or just think Bradley Cooper is the bee's knees now thanks to American Sniper, which he is by the way - I mean have you seen that movie? - Shame on you if you haven't - back to what I was saying, Aloha is also out this weekend.
So what do you think? Want to see either of these movies? Check out the trailers below!
A celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and re-connects with a long-ago love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog assigned to him.

Planning on seeing either of these movies this weekend? Or maybe seeing one that has already been out for a couple of weeks? Let us know about it in the comments below!

"The Secret Love Of Villains: A Pop Review"
Let’s face facts………. EVERYONE wants the Villain to win at some point.
Is it because you yourself are sick and twisted? Well…….. probably. But the main reason I think at some point is because we all want a change of pace. Something we aren’t expecting. Plus, Marvel made everyone like “Loki” and that’s something we now have to live with. In this review, I’m not only going to talk about my new Funko’s, but also make mention to the fact that they are all Villains and why I’m showing the villains some love on this go around.
I’m really excited about my existing, but also recently new additions, to my Funko Marvel Villains collection. If you read my Thanos review, then you already know what I love and don’t love about his Funko Pop! Vinyl. The others though really came out well. However, there’s a difference with some of the Pop’s that I’ve noticed. If you watch the Marvel movies, you know that in Guardians of the Galaxy, Ronan wielded the Power Gem (Infinity Stone) the longest, but The Collector Pop is the one carrying the Orb. I would’ve loved to see the Power Gem on Ronans figure. Same issue with Loki. As you’ve seen, the Scepter he had for the longest time contained an Infinity Stone as well, However, he was not even given the Scepter on his Pop. Lastly, they only have a Dark Elf from Thor 2: The Dark World. That would be my biggest disappointment, considering the main villain “Malekith” didn’t get a Pop. Only one of his worker drones.
Now, putting aside the negativity, Funko never short changes their Pop’s on major details. I think out of all the Pops, Loki’s helmet and Ronan’s hammer are huge details that I’m really glad they kept. I don’t see Ronan kicking ass without his hammer, just as I don’t see Loki trying to take over Earth without his glorious horns. The details in the Funko’s always leave me in “awe” knowing that even though you may not be a HUGE Marvel fan, that the details to distinguish these villains of the universe, is enough for anyone to recognize who they are……………… and yes, I consider The Collector a villain in the MCU.
Now to a point I made earlier. Why give the villains some love? Well, because they never win. They may cross the Earth, Galaxy, or Universe, but eventually, you know and understand that their demise is imminent. But play the dangerous game of switching sides. What if Loki succeeded in taking over Earth in the Avengers. Would he be right in his line in thinking that “freedom is life’s greatest lie”? What if Ultron wasn’t thwarted in his attempt at a home-made comment destroying all life? When you watch these movies, at some point, no matter how much we love our heroes, we ALL get that little inkling inside ourselves saying, “I hope that dude wins, I want something new with these movies. I want to be shocked”. Maybe the villains are also misunderstood. All the members of Guardians Of The Galaxy started off as bad guys, then turned good. Could we all be wrong about how we view villains?
What are your thoughts on villains? Do you ever root for them? Any of the Funko collectors reading have any of these villains in their collection?
Jaden Smith Confirmed As Static Shock By Tyler James Williams
From ComicBook.com
During a recent interview, actor Tyler James Williams (The Walking Dead, Everybody Hates Chris) pointed out that "there aren't a lot of young, black superheroes." Two people in the background can be heard shouting to him "Static Shock" and "Spider-Man." Those suggestions elicit an interesting response from Williams.
"I don't know... What you're taking about," Williams says to Flicks And The City with a knowing smile. "But yeah no, it's great to see Static Shock is happening with Jaden."
The "Jaden" he refers to, is Will Smith's After Earth co-star and real-life son Jaden. Back in October, Smith was rumored for Static Shock, which Warner Bros. has been developing as a live-action digital series with Django Unchained producer Reginald Hudlin.
Listen to his comments starting at the 1:05 mark in the video below.
Static Shock features the character Static, originally created in 1993 by Dwayne McDuffie, Robert L. Washington III, and John Paul Leon for Milestone Comics, the short-lived DC Comics imprint meant to increase representation of African-American creators and characters. Static, whose real name is Virgil Hawkins, possesses electricity-based powers.

St. Louis Wizard World Comic Con Kickoff Party!
Last night Ryan and I (Joe) had the opportunity to attend the Wizard World St. Louis kickoff party at the Hard Rock Cafe. The kickoff party included a red carpet where we could get pictures of some of the Celebrities and Artists that will be at this weekends Comic Con as well as get a chance to ask them a few questions. Celebrities on hand were Christian Kane ("Leverage & The Librarians") and Chris51 ("Epic Ink"). Artists in attendance were Victor Dandridge, Rob Schamberger, and Clinton Hobart.
The festivities began with a brief Q&A with both Christian Kane as well as Chris51. Most of the questions came from the numerous ladies there in attendance known as the #Kaniacs. Check back for video of that panel!
However, during the red carpet entrance we got to chat with Chris51 and ask him a few quick questions:
NerdLife: How bad did that Simpsons Donut tattoo hurt when they "set it in?"
Chris51: Hurt like hell! It was literally 20 minutes after the tattoo and I told the production crew that you only have 1 take at this and that's it!
NerdLife: Is the entire weekend booked with scheduled tattoos?
Chris51: Pretty much but I still have some time to go around and look for some action figures! Which is crazy, I never make any money from these because I always spend it all on awesome stuff!
Thanks again to Chris51 for taking a moment to talk and snap a selfie with us! I can definitely say without a doubt you sir are Living The Nerd Life!
The Last person we got to meet with is Victor Dandridge from Vantage:Inhouse Productions (V:IP)!! Here is a brief bio about Victor.
Victor Dandridge is a rising star in the small-press market, rapidly gaining notoriety and acclaim through his creator-owned publishing imprint, Vantage:Inhouse Productions. Through V:IP, Dandridge has produced award-nominated/winning titles (The Samaritan, Origins Unknown, The Trouble w/ Love, and Wonder Care), the workbook-based educational brand, U Cre-8 Comics, as well as the multi-media comic book tutorial show, UnConventional.
The night was capped off with a brief acoustic set by Christian Kane which was the icing on the cake, if you will, for the evening. Check back in for the video of Christian Kane's live set!
LivingTheNerdLife.com would like to thank Abby and everyone at Wizard World for allowing us to be at this event. We look forward to the rest of the weekend and bring all of you as much Nerdy Goodness as we can. Make sure to tune back in throughout the weekend to see what and who we bump into!

Thanos Funko POP Review
Hello my Funko Fanatics! It’s been a while since a Pop! Vinyl review. So in the happy spirit I am with all the Marvel madness I’ve been going through, I thought I’d write a review on my newest addition to the collection, the Mad Titan, THANOS! If you’ve read my previous posts about Funko, then you know how much of a fan I am. However, what you didn’t know is I’m also a huge Marvel fan as well. Has anyone else been watching the entire MCU storyline since Iron Man debuted in 2008?!
Putting aside the Marvel fanatic I am, back to this AWESOME Pop. The designers over at Funko really know their stuff. For being a 6” collectible and the character stripped down to the essentials, they still capture the essence of the Mad Titan. I love the detail in his gold armor. It’s not just giving him gold boots and a chest piece, you can actually see the type of detail that makes you, the buyer and Marvel lover, aware that he’s in his armor. Even with subtle details like his unusual chin with all the indentations. I’m also favoring his smile, as it appears to be the same smile he gave in The Avengers, knowing fully well, War is upon him.
Now, I will go out on a limb to say 2 things I’m personally a bit bummed out about. Although, I am aware of why these 2 things happened. First and foremost, Thanos as we all know him, wields the Infinity Gauntlet / Infinity Stones. He does not have this on his hand. The second detail is not on the Pop, but on the box itself, showing Guardians Of The Galaxy. Perhaps it should’ve just had a Marvel logo, or something to pertaining to the MCU as a whole? So let me state, that the 2 details are quite accurate though. Thanos first appeared in the first Avengers movie in 2012. However, he made his big debut and we got to see him in his full form in Guardians Of The Galaxy, hence the box.
The bigger detail of which we’ve all seen, the Infinity Gauntlet. If you follow the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then you know fully well that he is in possession of the Gauntlet, but not all the Infinity Stones (YET!). He didn’t have any of that in Guardians, hence why he doesn’t have it on this Pop. Personally, I’d love to one of 2 things happen. Sometime around when Avengers: Infinity Wars starts, they will make another Thanos with the Gauntlet and all the Stones. However, what I think would be even MORE amazing, is if Funko release either a Funko Pop of just the Gauntlet, or maybe an addition that can be added to the current Thanos.
What do you think should be done about the Gauntlet? Do you have a Thanos Funko and have theories/suggestions on what you’d like to see? Leave your comments below on what you love about this Pop! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @lorneondrums. Share your knowledge, theories, suggestions about Funko, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and everything in between!

The Tithe #1 // Review
New this week is “The Tithe” brought to by Matt Hawkins and Rahsan Ekedal from Image Comics and Top Cow Productions. This first issue follows a group of hackers who target corrupt super churches and give the money they take to charities. Basically this is a modern version of the classic Robin Hood tale that we've been told minus the appearances of Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman. The Pastor Tibbett character is very much in the shade of Joel Osteen and his form of religious prosperity teaching. Obviously he hasn't been found funneling money to an island, but you get the point.
The hacker group known as Samaritan robs the church and gains access to the vault. They then hack the projection screens and show the good pastor in a scene of decadence. They proceed to detonate a bomb which causes a mass of confusion. During all of the confusion the line “It's the Muslims” is a very telling statement for our current attitude of the masses unfortunately.
The FBI is brought in to investigate and Pastor Tibbett proclaims innocence during all of his interviews. There is some connection made between the Samaritan group and an FBI agent before we learn where the group is heading next.
With the overtly religious tone of this comic, it might not be for everyone. I'm just putting that out there right now. However, if you can see beyond the very obvious social commentary then this might be something you want to pick up. The group's actions certainly are done in a moral gray area. They have guns, they threaten violence to the families of the corrupt and even set off a bomb. At the same time, they expose corrupt leaders who are essentially stealing from people, then take this money and give it to charities. This comic walks a very fine line, and it does so very well. Pastor Tibbett is not at all likeable despite the fact that he is robbed. He's a slick, fast talking evangelical pastor in charge of a super-church.
Rahsan Ekedal does a great job with the art in this issues. It's nothing fancy, but it's well done. The showing of the congregation passing their money to the collection plate while singing praises is captured perfectly. The church is well drawn and doesn't take your attention away from the characters.
The first issue of Tithe shows some real promise and does a great job of introducing us to the story. It should be interesting to see where they take this story on future issues.
