IAN SOMERHALDER @ Wizard World St. Louis 2017

Ian Somerhalder stars in The CW’s hit drama, “The Vampire Diaries” as Damon Salvatore, the elder and far more dangerous of the two brothers who share a long and bitter history. For his portrayal of Damon, Somerhalder has received multiple Teen Choice Awards, including four consecutive wins for “Choice TV Actor Fantasy/Sci-Fi.” The show returned for its sixth season this fall.

In April 2014, Somerhalder appeared in Emmy Award-winning Showtime docu-series, “Years of Living Dangerously,” from executive producers Jerry Weintraub, James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Focusing on global climate change, the series also included interviews and commentary from Matt Damon, America Ferrera, Lesley Stahl, and Harrison Ford among others. Additionally, Somerhalder can currently be seen as the face of Azzaro Pour Homme, the luxury fashion brand’s new men’s fragrance.

Somerhalder is well known for his role as Boone on J.J. Abrams’ critically acclaimed drama “Lost.” He won the 2005 SAG Award as part of “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series” and “Lost” won the 2005 Emmy Award for “Best Television Series - Drama.” The show was also nominated for the 2004 Golden Globe Award and the 2004 People’s Choice Award. Somerhalder returned to “Lost” for several episodes during its final season. 

Somerhalder’s other television credits include HBO’s “Tell Me You Love Me,” a leading role in The WB series “Young Americans,” and guest starring roles in “CSI,” “CSI: Miami,” “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Smallville.” 

His film credits include, “The Anomaly”, written by Simon Lewis and directed by Noel Clarke; “Time Framed”, a short film series he produced with SinMedia Factory; Ellen Kanor’s “The Wake”; “Sensation of Sight,” opposite David Strathairn and Jane Adams; Jim Sonzero’s “Pulse”; “The Rules of Attraction,” opposite James Van Der Beek, Kate Bosworth, Kip Pardue and Jessica Biel; Irwin Winkler’s “Life as a House,” opposite Hayden Christensen, Kevin Kline and Kristen Scott Thomas; Martin Guigui’s “Changing Hearts,” opposite Lauren Holly and Faye Dunaway; and Tony Giglio’s “In Enemy Hands,” opposite William H. Macy, Jeremy Sisto and Scott Caan.

On stage, Somerhalder starred off-Broadway in Trip Cullman’s “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead,” an “unauthorized parody” of Charles Schulz’ comic strip “Peanuts” that follows the travails of a grown up Charlie Brown and the original gang as their beloved beagle dies. Somerhalder co-starred with Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eliza Dushku, America Ferrera, Ari Graynor and Logan Marshall-Green.

In 2010, Somerhalder launched The Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which aims to educate, empower and collaborate with people and projects that positively impact our planet and its creatures. Through his role as founder and president, Somerhalder strives to create awareness for environmental and animal rights related issues, focusing specifically on the environment, creatures and clean energy initiatives. In 2011, ISF co-partnered with the Alliance for Global Conservation to create Planet Green’s “Blue August,” a week-long series that explored the wonders of the ocean and aquatic life. Ian served as an online and on-camera guide for the documentary and traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to film the life cycle of sea turtles. Currently, ISF is working on developing its own Animal Sanctuary dedicated to misfit and outcast pets, as well as other animals. Ian also serves on the advisory board of RYOT.org, a breaking news site that lets you take action on every story that is posted. In 2014 Somerhalder was named as United Nations Environmental Program Goodwill Ambassador.

‘Dexter’ Cast to Make First Ever Appearance Together At Wizard World Comic Con Cleveland and St. Louis in 2017

LOS ANGELES, November 14, 2016 - Fans will have a “killer day” when Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan), Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan), James Remar (Harry Morgan), Jaime Murray (Lila Tournay), and Christian Camargo (Rudy Cooper), from the Emmy nominated hit TV series "Dexter," reunite for the first time during the world's largest pop culture tour at Wizard World Comic Con Cleveland and St. Louis in 2017.

The group will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for solo and dual photo ops and conduct an interactive Q&A panel, in their first Wizard World appearance together. Wizard World Comic Con Cleveland is March 17-19 and Wizard World St. Louis is April 7-9. For more details on both shows, visit http://www.wizardworld.com.

In both cities, Hall and Carpenter will appear Saturday and Sunday (March 18-19; April 8-9) and Remar will attend Friday through Sunday; Murray will appear only in Cleveland Saturday and Sunday (March 18-19); Camargo will attend in St. Louis Saturday and Sunday (April 8-9).

Hall most recently starred as Thomas Newton in the New York Theatre Workshop production of “Lazarus” (Drama Desk, Drama League, Lucille Lortel award nominations) by David Bowie & Enda Walsh, directed by Ivo van Hove and inspired by the novel The Man Who Fell to Earth by Walter Tevis. The musical will start previews on October 25 and runs through January 22 at King’s Cross Theater in London. His television credits include “Dexter” (SAG, Golden Globe awards; five Emmy nominations) and “Six Feet Under” (two SAG ensemble awards, Emmy nomination). On film, Hall co-starred in Jim Mickle’s Cold in July and John Krokidas’ Kill Your Darlings. He will next be seen in Antonio Campos’ Christine (which premiered in Dramatic Competition at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival) with Rebecca Hall. He is currently shooting Peter Landesman’s Felt, a political thriller about Watergate, told from the vantage point of Deep Throat. Hall plays White House Counsel John Dean.

Carpenter is most known for her role as ‘Debra Morgan’ in Showtime's highly successful, critically acclaimed series, “Dexter,” which has received Emmy®, SAG, Golden Globe and People's Choice Award nominations. The actress recently wrapped the CBS series, “Limitless”, in which she stars as ‘Agent Rebecca Harris,’ a dynamic investigator who teams up with an unlikely counterpart under the influence of a new underground mentally-enhancing drug to solve cases for the FBI. The actress is currently in production for the independent feature “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” in which she plays the wife in a struggling marriage to Vince Vaughn.

Remar, a rugged, intense character player who was featured in such films as the 1979 hit The Warriors and five years later The Cotton Club. In a career spanning nearly four decades, James has run the gamut of roles and solid career choices. Ranging from 48 Hrs. to "Sex and the City" to Boys on the Side , Remar has more than 150 movie and TV credits, most recently in a supporting role in the series "State of Affairs."

Murray is an English actress, known for playing Stacie Monroe in the BBC series “Hustle” and Lila West in the Showtime series “Dexter.” She is also known for her recurring roles as Gaia in the Starz miniseries “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,” as Olivia Charles in The CW series ”Ringer,” and as Helena G. Wells in the Syfy series “Warehouse 13.” Most recently she portrayed the character of Stahma Tarr in the Syfy series “Defiance,” which aired its final episode in August, 2015 and was seen in a guest role on Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow” series in 2015 as well. Murray can next be seen in a lead role in the upcoming film, The Rapture . Also an accomplished and sought after model, Murray has modeled clothing in television advertisements for Debenhams department store. She is signed to Models 1 in London and has appeared in men's magazines such as GQ, Mayfair, and FHM, as well as women's magazines such as Hello!, Cosmopolitan, and OK!.

Camargo was most recently seen as Eva Green’s love interest, the immortal Dracula, on the Showtime series “Penny Dreadful.” He recently concluded a run playing the titular role in “Pericles” at The Polonsky Shakespeare Center, directed by Trevor Nunn. His film credits include Kathryn Bigelow’s Academy Award winning film “The Hurt Locker,” “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 & 2”  with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison and Walt Disney Pictures “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” His extensive television credits comprise of memorable recurring roles including the Netflix series “House of Cards” and Showtime’s “Dexter”. Christian’s numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway Theatre credits are also impressive, having performed in “Romeo and Juliet” at the Richard Rogers Theatre, directed by David Leveaux; “The Tempest” and “As You Like It” at the Brooklyn Academy of Music as directed by Sam Mendes; and an award-winning turn as “Hamlet” in the production by the Theatre for a New Audience, directed by David Esbjornson.

Team Nerd Life was excited to see the addition of Elizabeth Henstridge added to the guest list of this years Wizard World!

Having grown up on a farm in England’s northern city of Sheffield, Elizabeth became the black sheep of the family when she chose to pursue acting in lieu of a “proper job.” She studied at Birmingham University followed by East 15 Acting School, London and soon thereafter moved to Los Angeles. Within 6 weeks of arriving, she booked a leading role in J.J. Abrams and Mark Schwahn’s CW pilot Shelter. Her first year culminated with filming the feature Reach Me with Sylvester Stallone, and being offered the role of Agent Jemma Simmons in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Big News For Wizard World St. Louis | David Tennant & Billie Piper

Some of you may have heard of a little show called Dr. Who. If not it's great and I have been a recent convert into the "Whovian" nation thanks in large part to this man, David Tennant. The big news is that both David Tennant and Billie Piper will be special guests here April 2016 at Wizard World St. Louis!

Not many shows have drawn me in as hard and as fast as Dr. Who has. I found myself leaning on my Instagram friends when I caught myself crying when the Doctor lost Rose. Or when the 10th Dr said "I don't want to go" heavens sake its been a tear jerker. Also, I want to thank all my InstaFriends who helped me get through those episodes! lol So needless to say I am really excited to meet David Tennant but even more excited to meet Billie Piper. My wife loves her some Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead for me its Rose Tyler dear goodness she is not ugly!
