The Walking Dead Mid-Season Premier [SPOILERS]

Whats going on everyone? We were so excited last night we nearly pee'd our pants! Why? Because yesterday was the return of The Walking Dead! 

I will actually do my best to not share any spoilers, I put that in the title just in case some of you are whiny babies and haven't seen last nights episode yet ._. to steer them clear of what they might think are spoilers. 

To start off I must say that I think I had about 2 heart attacks and by the end of the episode I was breathing heavily into a brown paper bag. Why you ask? Well I won't spoil it for you but dear goodness there was a lot going on. Literally the closest episode to magnitude or sheer awesomeness was when Carol broke the group out of Terminus! Right? That was an awesome episode so just think about it, this one was better! 

I'll leave you with this... The group takes a stand, an important event from the comic has emerged and Eugene killed a walker! I saw it happen!

The Walking Dead | NEGAN!!!

I said NEGAN!!! But since I've been brought to speed with who he kills thanks to the comics I'm not that excited. But Negan is a game changer for the series and the 2nd half of this should be a doozie!

The Walking Dead Season 6: New Looks At Rick Grimes & Company

Rick Grimes seems to be thinking about season 6 of The Walking Dead as much as the rest of us.

In new photos from season 6, Rick can be seen on his front porch in the Alexandria Safe-Zone, deep in thought about something. Perhaps Pete's execution? Perhaps Morgan's reaction? It could be any number of things.

Also featured are Michonne and her katana, Daryl and his bike, and Carol whipping up some weapons in the kitchen. Check them out in the gallery below.

We'll find out more about whatever is on Rick's mind when The Walking Dead returns October 11 at 9 PM EST on AMC.

The Walking Dead's Emily Kinney Joins Masters Of Sex

Emily Kinney, the down-home girl next door from AMC's The Walking Dead,will appear on the next season of Masters of Sex.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Kinney, who also made a guest appearance on The Flash last year, "will appear in a multi-episode arc as Nora. As a child, Nora was Bill and Libby Masters’ neighbor. Now in her 20s, poised and brimming with intelligence, Nora volunteers to become a sex surrogate in the next phase of Masters and Johnson’s research."

Fans have speculated that Kinney, whose ouster from The Walking Deadwas surrounded by controversy, would return for more supervillainy, especially since her character was more known in the comics for being a foe of The Atom than The Flash, and Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer will appear in DC's Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular next year.

Masters of Sex returns for its third season on Sunday, July 12, on Showtime.

Norman Reedus Says The Walking Dead Season 6 Is Particularly Complicated

Just when you thought things might get a little simpler on The Walking Dead... Wait... You probably never had that thought. And if you did, you were wrong.

The upcoming sixth season of AMC's hit series based on the Image comics series written and created by Robert Kirkman will apparently be, "particularly complicated," according to Norman Reedus who plays fan-favorite character, Daryl Dixon.

"There’s lots of action and lots of drama and lots of sadness like we always bring, but this season’s particularly complicated," Reedus told Nerdist. "The storylines are really interwoven with future and past. Certain things happen, and you’re kind of like, 'Wow, that just happened.' Then you’ll find out episodes later why that happened and what that meant. [Executive producer] Scott [Gimple]’s so good at planning for the future and taking little things and making them mean big things later. And you go, 'Oh, that’s what that means…' A real mature sort of storytelling has really taken us over right now. It’s super interesting and super thrilling."

So, The Walking Dead: Days of Future Past is certainly upon us in October. Showrunner Scott Gimple recently opened up about how the first half of season six will thicken the backstory with storytelling which could almost be considered a prequel. Pairing Gimple's words with Reedus' claim about the story becoming complicated sounds like a head scratching run of episodes is approaching.

As for what the first half of season six will explore in terms of backstory, it's likely Alexandria's roots, the Wolves, and perhaps the infamous Saviors from the comics. Not to mention, we have no idea what Morgan's journey has been like, not only on his march up the east coast but morally, which made him value all life.

First Look || Fear The Walking Dead: Nick's Escape

As a semi-active concert goer, there was no missing Emily Kinney here in St. Louis, MO. Most may know Emily as Beth Greene from The Walking Dead, but those who looked past the show for her singing found that she has her own music! Music that she does outside of The Walking Dead is a very unique pop style that you’d have to try and explain yourself.

The show was at a venue called The Blueberry Hill Duck Room. It’s basically a bar and stage under a restaurant on the ever popular Delmar Loop. If you’ve ever been to a small concert venue then you’ll know that it’s perfect for non-mainstream artists. The venue holds less than 300 people. There were solid 200 people at this show.

We get to the about 7:15, doors open at 8:00, and find ourselves in a short ten person line to get ID’d and moved through to the venue downstairs. Once we’re downstairs you find a dark basement with a bar along the back wall and a professional stage on the opposite wall. I grab myself a few brewskies and wait for the venue to start filling up and the opening act, Dylan Gardner, to come on.

Dylan Gardner is an 18 year old with an amazing voice and strong lyrics. He is very quick to knock your socks off and get you in the mood for a live band. You’ll want to keep an eye out for his name and check him out whenever he’s near you.

Short drum set changeover and we’re basically right into Emily Kinney. She comes out on stage with her band and greets the audience with a “what’s up?” and a count into her first song “Mess”.  You can definitely pick up that’s she’s pretty excited to be out on the road being able to do the music she loves. Quirky audience interactions and statements like “we need a bigger van!”. Quite a few songs from the night where from her new album “This is War” coming out this summer. No complaints about this from fans. We even got to see two songs that she performed on The Walking Dead, “Be Good” and “Hold On”. The show moves through at a solid pace and definitely gives you your money worth. From her poppy, upbeat vocals and the simple but almost perfect lighting, you’ll find from videos and others that went, it was truly a magical experience.

FINALLY, we are able to officially announce that FEAR THE WALKING DEAD is the title of The Walking Dead companion series coming later this summer! You may have seen this title floating around behind the scenes earlier on but it wasn’t official until just now when Robert tweeted the following:

The companion series will premiere this summer and lead up to Season 6 of The Walking Dead. Tune into the Season 5 finale for a first look at FEAR THE WALKING DEAD!

Episode 5:13 "Forget" 

House party anyone? 

SPOILER ALERT! 

*by continuing to read on you willingly know you may read something that might spoil your Walking Day episode 513 eperience if you have not watched it yet*

This episode found out group in a peculiar situation, one that may be more uncomfortable then surround by a group of walkers. This episodes central theme was a house party that Deanna was throwing for the group. The people of Alexandria have had the luxury of not really experiencing what is going on beyond the saftey the walls of Alexandria provide. This is evident by the party that is being thrown for our group. 

Our group struggles with the idea of attending a party, when just a few days prior they were held up in a barn pushing back a door keeping walkers away during a tornado. Now drinks, snacks and lively conversation with the neighbor folk? Sasha seems to be the only one holding on to life outside and is struggling more than Daryl to accept Alexandria and Sasha lets that be known during her Party Pooper meltdown. Speaking of Sasha and Daryl we may have a potential job for Sasha which is being on look out duty and Daryl was officially asked to be a recruiter with Aaron. Also, can you say Bro-mance? You'll see what I mean, spaghetti and a motorcycle? Watch out ladies Aaron is laying it on thick.

Carol officially became more awesome this episode during her talk with a young kid who followed her into the gun supply. Ill save this for you to see because it was the best part of the episode and writing about it does no justice. Let's just say I'd take the cookies.  

It's also official that Rick wants to get down on some Jesse. He proves it with one of the most awkward cheek kisses in probably TV history. Plus he almost gunned down #porchdick on the streets of Alexandria. If you don't know who that is you need to watch Talking Dead because #porchdick was trending.

This Amazing Multi Layered Walking Dead Easter Egg Shows How Much Season 1 Is Still Influencing the Show

WARNING: Possible spoilers for The Walking Dead TV and comic series ahead.

Now any dedicated fan of The Walking Dead will be able to tell you how much importance is placed on the concept of time in the show. From the very beginning of the show it is something which has been brought up again and again, and now some savvy viewers have realized that the latest reference to time may have been part of an even bigger Easter Egg.

In last Sunday's episode of the show, "Remember," Deanna conducted her interview with Rick, towards the end she tells Rick he needs to decide whether or not his group will stay, saying: 

Rick, it's 3:37pm, you're skeptical, you have a right to be, but it's time to decide, if you're the one that's doing the deciding.

This was the first time in a long time we've heard the exact time mentioned aloud in the show, and as a response to Deanna's question, Rick started winding his watch to the correct time. Now this in itself was, firstly, a cool way of showing how Rick (and the gang) were rejoining the 'real world' where things like time mattered again, and secondly it was a very nice nod to Dale, our sadly deceased wise-old-man of the group who always kept his watch ticking. However, as some people over at The Spoiling Dead Fans have spotted, this small tip of the hat to Dale actually goes further than we could have first imagined.

Now, Dale was probably the first character to really make a point of time in The Walking Dead, when way back in Season 1, episode 4, "Vatos," a character named Morales asked Dale why he continued to wind his watch when it was so clearly unneeded. Dale, paraphrasing Faulkner, responded:

I like what, uh, a father said to son when he give him a watch that had been handed down through generations. He said "I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire, which will fit your individual needs no better than it did mine or my father's before me, I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you may forget it for a moment now and then and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it."

Now aside from the quote itself being great, there's something else this Season 1 gem has given us: the titles for the last five episodes of Season 5. Check them out above in bold, you have from episode 12 "Remember" all the way to episode 16 "Conquer."

Now I know some of you might say that this is just a coincidence, but Season 5B has already provided another Dale reference when Glenn was the only one able to fix Aaron's RV back in episode 11, after Dale taught him back in Season 2. Also just last week there was a nod to Dale in the form of the actor who played the walker who killed Dale, appearing again as a walker in episode 12.

Anyway you slice it, Dale has been all over Season 5, at least in memory.

So now of course, with any Walking Dead Easter Egg you have to wonder if it means even more than what we've already worked out. Could it be hinting that someone else's time is up, or maybe something more obscure - not a character leaving, but a character returning?

Now this is just my theory, so bare with me, but if we take this reference all the way back to its root, it all started with a character names Morales asking Dale why he winds his watch. After Season 1 we never see Morales again, not because he was gruesomely devoured by a hungry walker, but because he and his family left to look for their relatives in Alabama. Nothing has been heard of from Morales since, but that's not to say that they were killed. So, perhaps instead of making it to Alabama, somehow they end up Alexandria? After all, it was speculated that the character would make his way back on screens after a cryptic tweet was sent out by Juan G. Pareja back in October (see above).

But, theories or not we still have the flesh of a few more episodes of Season 5 to sink our teeth into before we get to that all important 90 minute long finale. I cannot wait!

'Captain America,' 'The Walking Dead' lead 2015 Saturn Awards nominations

It was a good day for Marvel with the release of the 41st annual Saturn Awards nominations (geared toward genre work on the big and small screen). "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" led overall on the film side with 11 nominations, while "Guardians of the Galaxy" picked up nine. Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" had a strong showing, too, with 10 mentions.

This year's Best Picture Oscar winner "Birdman" popped up four times, including in the Best Fantasy Film Release category where it dukes it out with films like "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" and "Into the Woods."

Somehow Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is deemed a fantasy film, too, while this is the second group, I believe, that has chalked Paul Thomas Anderson's "Inherent Vice" up as an "action/adventure" film. OK… Additionally, the lack of "John Wick" -- anywhere -- is a significant WTF if you ask me.

On the TV side, it was "The Walking Dead" leading the charge with seven tips of the hat.

Walker Wednesday

So we have had a few days to let this weeks episod of the Walking Dead sink in. What did you think? 

This weeks episode found the group struggling with accepting their current situation in Alexandria. Some find it easier to give in to some of the benefits of Alexandria while others still haven't completely put their gaurd down.

Don't confuse me saying they give into that easy as them being weak because I don't mean that at all. Take for instance Rick and the now infamous shower and beard cutting scene. Or Michonne brushing her teeth for 20 minutes straight. Some like Daryl are holding on to the fact that they can't trust anyone except each other and isn't giving in to the temptation of a warm shower. Some of them are just more open to the idea that this may indeed be a safe place.

Both sides are cautious and Deana, the leader of Alexandria, conducts interviews with our group members to obtain more information and to place them in jobs in the town. The jobs make me think of the movie Maze Runner, you have Runners who go get supplies, Leaders and then Gatherers who cook, clean etc. Some get their jobs by the end of this episode while some don't.

This episode also introduced us to a few new characters. Carl's new friends Ron, Mikey and Enid. Jesse the new good looking woman on the show and her husband. Deana, her son Aiden and his pal, plus a couple other characters.

All in all it was a really good episode and I'm looking forward to see how the interaction goes with the group and the members of Alexandria. The winner of the highlights I noted above: Glenn's right fist square on Aiden's nose. I was hoping it was going to happen earlier in the episode and it finally did. It was the little cherry on top of this episode for me.

6 Walking Dead Characters that Should Jump from Page to Screen

Violent loss can become numbingly commonplace in a world overrun by flesh-craving corpses.

We're nine episodes into season five, and hardened survivor Rick Grimes's travel-fatigued group has lost three major members. Bob was eaten, both by the living and the undead. Beth caught a bullet during a hostage exchange gone awry. Tyreese finally decided to turn off the news.

If the showrunners kept up their current pace of killing off characters without adding in fresh blood from time to time, viewers would quickly be left with no one else to mourn. But changes to the show's roster are not all subtractions, and new characters like Gabriel and Noah joined in the first half of this season. Now, with the group still reeling from back-to-back deaths and wandering toward Washington seeking hope and purpose, a seemingly friendly stranger named Aaron arrived at the very end of the last episode with an offer of "good news."

Readers of The Walking Dead graphic novels will recognize Aaron as the recruiter for the Alexandria Safe-Zone, a locale that serves as the staging point for all of the comic book's major plotlines to come. If Rick and his group are headed to Alexandria, the path is clear for the show to start bringing in a wide new cast of major comic book characters.

Assuming the show is moving in that direction, here are a few characters who could provide some exciting new interactions in upcoming episodes and seasons of The Walking Dead.

Eric

(Just met this character in the last episode)

In the books, Aaron doesn't travel alone when he's recruiting new people for the Alexandria Safe-Zone. The fact that Aaron has now introduced himself to Sasha and Maggie on the show means that his partner/emergency backup, Eric, is likely nearby, waiting to see how things turn out.

Eric will almost certainly be the next new face introduced to the group before (if) they enter the Alexandria Safe-Zone. His partnership with Aaron could give the show writers an opportunity to explore the struggles of establishing and maintaining a same-sex relationship in a post-apocalyptic world.

 

Douglas Monroe

Readers will know Douglas Monroe as the leader of the Alexandria Safe-Zone when Rick's group arrives. Douglas was a congressman from Ohio before the zombie outbreak and, as written, has a leadership style that might prove challenging for Rick to accept after facing so much hardship on the road. Having Douglas as a foil could help demonstrate Rick's pragmatic leadership and reaffirm why, even in a relatively peaceful situation, he maintains authority within his group.

Jessie Anderson

Traveling abandoned highways skirting death on a daily basis, new romances are difficult to come by. Singles who haven't recently lost significant others to cannibals are in short supply, and lacking consistent food, water or shelter, the show's survivors have had other concerns vying for their attention.

Jessie, a resident of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, isn't technically single, but she may still serve as a romantic interest in upcoming episodes. A conflict between Rick's group and Jessie's less-than-chivalrous husband Pete could lead to some intriguing domestic drama and help to solidify the group's status in its new community.

Paul 'Jesus' Monroe

Jesus is formidable. In his comic debut, he proves himself to be a talented martial artist and survivor. Like Aaron, Jesus is a recruiter and ambassador for a community of survivors living on the outskirts of Washington.

Jesus's hand-to-hand fighting skills alone would make his on-screen presence exciting, but Jesus also serves as a point of introduction to a broader network of survivors outside the Alexandria Safe-Zone and eventually becomes one of Rick's most trusted and capable allies when serious conflict arises.

'King' Ezekiel and Shiva

Ezekiel is the leader of the community called The Kingdom. Calling himself a "king" and speaking with all of the pretentiousness that entails, Ezekiel is written to be an intentionally over the top character.

Ezekiel's flair for the dramatic would make his introduction on the show memorable, but if the show remains true to the books, his more human moments with one of our favorite characters could expand his appeal as a character beyond simple theatrics.

Also, Ezekiel has a pet tiger named Shiva, and television currently suffers from a shameful dearth of tiger vs. zombie action.

Negan (and Lucille)

Rivaled only by The Governor, Negan is the most brutal enemy Rick and his group have faced in the comics.

Negan firmly establishes his unequivocal villainy in the comics with displays of force that are grotesque, even by The Walking Dead's gory standards. He perpetrates some particularly stomach-turning violence with the help of his barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat, Lucille.

If and when Negan appears on the TV series, it will be a challenge for showrunners to match the intensity of the vulgarity he exhibits on the books' pages without being able to make use of the highly colorful and somewhat limited vocabulary that does so much to define his character.

It will take some time for the shattered group on the show to get themselves on solid enough footing to stand up to someone like Negan, so it will probably be a while before he is introduced on screen, but once he is, his antagonism will likely redefine the course of the series, if the comic is any indication.

Hey everyone! Here is a quick little unboxing of 2 Walking Dead Series 2 Mystery Minis. Got a pretty good draw on my first pull with the Bloody knife Governer he was a 1 out of 144 pull.

The Distance

So what did you all think of Episode 511: The Distance?

Overall I felt it was just ok. 

The group struggles with Aaron's proposition to join him and his people. Rick I feel does a lot of overthinking in this episode that puts the group at risk almost costing them his, Michonne, Glenn and Aarons lives. 

Putting myself in his shoes I completely understand his decision and Carol even lets him know this at the end of the episode by saying, "Even though you were wrong, you were right." Everybody knows that all of his overthinking was to protect his family and I don't mean just Carl and Judith, but everyone in the group. 

One of the biggest question marks or eyebrows being raised from the episode that was left unanswered was where is the picture of you people? Aaron comes up with a shakey at best story that the film developed but came out bad which lead to the 3 questions. How many walkers have you killed? How many people have you killed? Why?  

How about Glenn's driving through the walker highway from hell? This scene was pretty crazy and again one that could have been avoided. During the panic to get back to the group following a signal flare Aaron steps up with Glenn to help save both Rick and Michonne. From there they find the group and another new cast member, Eric. The episode ends with the group staring down the gate to Alexandria

What do you think of Aaron and Eric? Is this Alexandria really safe? Can the group trust these people?

Walking Dead Spoilers: was Robert Kirkman joking?

First, let’s dish on the possible death spoiler, as that’s the hot discussion for Walking Dead fans right now. Possible major spoilers lie ahead for the TV series, and a confirmed major spoiler for the comic books, so proceed with caution.

Creator Robert Kirkman has Walking Dead fans in an uproar over comments he made on Chris Hardwick’s @midnight show during a game of what was supposed to be fake spoilers with Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Josh McDermitt (Eugene). Fashion & Style reports that while Cohan was coming up with silly, fake spoilers, Kirkman blurted out an alleged Walking Dead spoiler straight out of the comic books.

“Eventually a character named Negan is introduced and he’s going to bash in Glenn’s brains with a baseball bat called Lucille,” said Kirkman, with Cohan, McDermitt, and Hardwick shocked into silence.

This is exactly what happens in the comics, although the show deviates frequently from that series. Fans are now trying to figure out if Kirkman was joking or if he gave away a true spoiler because he knew fans wouldn’t believe he’d tell the truth.

Was the shock on the show real or fake? Even if Glenn (Steven Yeun) is going to be killed on The Walking Dead, would Cohan and McDermitt even know about it as the actors themselves don’t find out about deaths till they get the scripts for that episode? Were they simply shocked he gave such a major spoiler from the comics? Were they in on the joke and acting?

You can see why Walking Dead fans are reeling with so many theories. And already reeling from two major deaths in the last three episodes, as Beth (Emily Kinney) was killed in the mid-season finale and Tyreese (Chad Coleman) in the second half premiere.

In somewhat happier news for fans of The Walking Dead, Scott Ian of Anthrax will make a cameo in the March 1 episode, according to Blabbermouth. If you were hoping for an ongoing role, sorry to say Ian will be a walker, as confirmed by photos of him getting the makeup. Although maybe he starts out as human? Walking Dead fans can only hope.

Ian, who is friends with The Walking Dead’s makeup artist, director, and executive producer, Greg Nicotero, also appeared as a walker back in 2011. He’s also a huge fan of horror films, which he revealed is a common phenomenon in the world of metal music.

Walker Wednesday

What did everyone think of this weeks episod of the Walking Dead Episode 510: "Them"?  

I'm glad to see an episode with everyone in it this was a pleasant change. Not that I don't mind seeing an entire episode about a few cast members but it's nice to see the whole gang together.  

This episode is what I like to call a "filler" episode and probably wont be a favorite for many of the fans. After last weeks episode and making the decision to push towards Washington the group struggles with hunger, thirst and each other. Sasha still dealing with the loss of her brother Tyreese acts out putting the other members of the group at harm causing tension between them.  

During their journey they run across a pack of wild dogs which turned out to be a blessing because they found their next meal. Still lacking water they push on and after a brief cut scene where Daryl finally showed his emotion over the loss of Beth the group is left looking at a supply of water with a letter that read "From a Friend." 

Not trusting anyone, Abraham slaps the bottle of water out of Eugenes hand worried that the water may be contamenated. This was a great moment because regardless of what happened in the past, Eugene lying to Abraham about a cure, they still care about each other, they're still family. Right after struggling with this the skies begin to fill with dark and ominous clouds and rain begins to rehydrate the group from their long hot journey. The rain quickly becomes too much and a storm begins pounding down on them. Daryl takes them to a barn he found while off scouting for water.  After clearing the barn they set up camp for the night.

This leads to the 2nd most important scene in the episode. Daryl goes to check the barn doors when he noticed a large group of walkers looking to make their pressence known. One by one the other members of the group notice Daryl holding back the door. The scene was pretty intense and shows the group working together to hold off the walkers while a seemingly tornado is rolling through with the storm.  

The following morning Maggie and Sasha take a walk with a music box that Carl gave Maggie earlier in the episode and that Daryl and fixed. When looking at the sun rise the open the music box and it still didn't work. But then, a rather well dressed and groomed man tell them "Hello! I'm Aaron and I'm a Friend. I'm looking for your leader Rick." Following that the music box kicks on and leaves us with quite the cliff hanger! 

Like I said the episode dragged a bit but all in all the episode was executed perfectly. From the struggles of the team 2nd guessing either going to Washington or just life in general to the climactic scene of the group coming together to hold off the Walkers at the end. Followed by one of the best cliff hangers this season. Won't be many viewers favorite but it wasn't that bad.
